Holidays in Italy 2025: Flights and transport

According to data from the famous Italian daily Corriere della Sera , domestic and European flights in 2025 are significantly more expensive than a year earlier. In June, tickets went up by 11 percent. The exception are connections between Italy and the United States . Here, prices have fallen by as much as 24 percent, probably due to political tensions .

According to the consumer organization Assoutenti, ferry crossings are also getting more expensive. A round-trip between Italy and Sardinia will cost an average family with a car €1,343. This is a 9.7 percent increase compared to 2024.

However, experts emphasize that the price of fuel has dropped by 9.8 percent.

Italy 2025: Accommodation prices

The prices of accommodation have also increased in the vast majority of cases. According to Il Sole 24 Ore , hotel prices in August 2025 could be up to 34 percent higher than five years ago!

The most expensive place for a family of four was San Teodoro in Sardinia . A week in a three-star hotel there costs an average of 3,015 euros. The biggest increases were recorded in mountain resorts in the Alps, such as Valdisotto . Here, prices rose by a whopping 25.1 percent!

Beaches in Italy are also more expensive

Now for something that Poles know about like few others. Beaching .

Every year, the Italian consumer organization Codacons checks prices in beach resorts.

In most places, renting an umbrella and two sun loungers costs around 35 euros per day. However, in Sabaudia you have to be prepared to pay 45 euros, in Gallipoli even 90, and in the most prestigious places in Sardinia even 120 euros per day.

Prices on luxury beaches are another story, however. In the Twiga club in Versilia , a so-called imperial tent for 10 people with full equipment costs up to 1,500 euros per day in August.

What does this mean? Experts from Assoutenti point out that due to rising prices, local and foreign tourists prefer to opt for more frequent but much shorter trips in June, July and September, when prices are more affordable.
