Three police officers from Malaga were poisoned after eating "by mistake" some candy with drugs

Three officers from the National Police in Malaga ended up in the emergency room of a hospital in the city after suffering from intoxication caused by a narcotic substance. The officers had eaten sweets impregnated with drugs “by mistake”, according to information published by Diario Sur .
The incident occurred last week, after officers from the Fuengirola police station carried out a search in a pro-cannabis club that had been on the radar of their investigations for some time. During the search, the agents seized various substances that looked like sweets and jelly beans that, in reality, contained narcotics.
Those affected The three officers were treated in hospital and discharged hours later.The agents took all these substances to the police station, where they were labelled and sealed. However, police sources consulted by the aforementioned media explained that one of the bags was left unprocessed by mistake or simple carelessness.
According to the official version, provided by the police after investigating this matter, the poisoning of the three officers who ended up in the emergency room occurred when, together with other colleagues, they returned to the police station after an intervention in the street. It was then that, according to this source, they entered the coordinators' room and, upon seeing the open and unlabelled bag of sweets, ate several of them.

As Diario Sur points out, this is not the first time that the police have seized drugs disguised as innocent sweets. In 2022, the National Police found 11 kilos of gummy bears in Benalmádena that were impregnated with a substance popularly known as 'La Bomba'. It is a powerful hallucinogen that is sold as an alternative to LSD or mescaline.
