Michelle Obama is launching a new project.
Through her and former president Barack Obama’s media company, Higher Ground, the former first lady has announced IMO: The Look—a six-part limited companion series to her hit podcast, IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson.

Premiering weekly beginning on November 5, the new show will explore Obama’s style evolution through intimate conversations with the creative team behind her wardrobe, makeup, and hair. She’ll also sit down with industry changemakers, including ELLE’s own editor-in-chief Nina Garcia, Jane Fonda, Bethann Hardison, Elaine Welteroth, and Jenna Lyons, for intimate conversations about fashion and self-expression.
The podcast’s release will coincide with her new book, The Look, out on November 4, which also chronicles her style journey.
Regarding her decision to write the book, Obama said, “During our family’s time in the White House, the way I looked was constantly being dissected—what I wore, how my hair was styled. For a while now, I’ve been wanting to reclaim more of that story, to share it in my own way. I’m thankful to be at a stage in life where I feel comfortable expressing myself freely—wearing what I love and doing what feels true to me. And I’m excited to share some of what I’ve learned along the way.”
She continued, “The Look is about more than fashion. It’s about confidence. It’s about identity. It’s about the power of authenticity. My hope is that this book sparks conversation and reflection about the ways we see ourselves—and the way our society defines beauty.”
And that’s not all—Obama will also host two live podcast tapings. The first will be a conversation with Tracee Ellis Ross on Wednesday, November 5, at 8 P.M. ET at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. The second will take place with Wesley Morris on Wednesday, November 12, at 7:30 P.M. ET at Sixth & I in Washington, DC. Tickets go on sale Monday, October 20 at 1 P.M. ET at michelleobamabooks.com.
