Alondra de la Parra closes her tour in León with a Gershwin tribute.
The Bicentennial Theater was shaken by the staging of “Gershwin, Life in Blue,” under the direction of Alondra de la Parra and the presentation of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas , which with a mix of Charleston, singing, jazz and classical music, closed its tour in León , offering the public a dreamlike journey into the life of the brilliant composer George Gershwin .
At the León venue, lights illuminated the Mexican conductor's movements, while the Philharmonic orchestra played in the background. A screen, a pair of pianos, and an old-fashioned radio complemented the stage, creating a performance that engaged the audience's senses and left them captivated.

With this exciting and fun proposal of dance, classical music and jazz, the production of Alondra de la Parra , led by the Parisian pianist and composer Thomas Enhco , pays tribute to the career of the renowned composer George Gershwin , since his music has accompanied the director throughout her career, leading her to constantly delve deeper into it.
This evening mesmerized the audience with performances of pieces such as: Rhapsody in Blue, Swanee, Oh Kay!, Shall We Dance?, An American in Paris, The Goldwin Follies, Piano Concerto in F Major, Oh Lady, Be Good!, Girl Crazy, Porgy and Bess , which together with the multimedia design immersed those present in an unforgettable sensory experience.
Robbie Fairchild, American dancer and actor , embraced Gershwin 's spirit through dance and his wishes, getting the audience to dance in their seats, accompanied also, in one of the pieces, by the children's cast who stole the hearts of those present.

Meanwhile, the versatile Australian jazz vocalist Olivia Chindamo captivated with the highs and lows of her voice in each of her performances; Monterrey-born dancer Amelie Flores also participated, demonstrating her enormous national talent.
Other key contributors to the show's creation included Zamira Pasceri, co-director; Marc Molinos of Piedra Muda Lab, on multimedia and interactive design; Rafael Mendoza, on lighting design; Rebekka Dornhege Reyes, on costume design; and Jaume Grau of Brava Arts, on the stage design .

One by one, the protagonists were given a standing ovation at the end of the performance: Alondra de la Parra, Thomas Enhco, Robbie Fairchild, Olivia Chindamo, Amelie Flores , and the children's cast, who attentively awaited the director's words.
George Gershwin, a beloved composer, I hope he lives on in your hearts and in the hearts of your children, because we must keep this music alive. Today marks the end of our tour, and I want to thank so many people, starting with the people you don't see on stage. This project would be impossible without the specific talent for it, like Amelie, the versatility of Olivia Chindamo, these children who have been rehearsing hard to appear in the show (children's cast), the incredible Robbie Fairchild, and the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas. "Thomas and I started this project, thinking about how to weave all the pieces together in a way that would keep this journey going. I can't think of anyone more similar to George Gershwin than Thomas Enhco," she concluded.

Founded by Alondra de la Parra in 2004, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas has performed at the White House , the Mexican Embassy, and the Canadian Consulate ; it has also performed for over 30,000 audiences in New York City, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Oaxaca, Dallas, and Washington, D.C. , among other cities.
