Spinal surgeries, multiscreen viewer helps surgeon in the operating room

A new generation visor that allows you to guide the surgeon in the operating room , who will be able to connect with the person performing the operation who, having sensors on their wrist, will not only be guided but also warned if they are making the correct movements.
The innovation was presented at the 46th National Congress of Sicv-Gis , the Italian Society of Spinal Surgery and the Italian Scoliosis Group . "Our data report an error in positioning of vertebral pedicle screws of approximately 7% of the total surgical implants performed, while with the use of new technologies, this percentage has dropped to less than 1% in one year," explains president Carlo Ruosi.
"More generally, new technologies reduce complications in the delicate sector of spinal surgery by 20%. With the instrument, similar to a ski mask , the professional "sees, remotely and live, what is happening and, being able to control multiple screens at the same time as if he had a multi-screen , he can ask for different shots, the operating room rather than the patient's wound, and therefore give his suggestions", in addition to opening CT scans, MRI and X-rays, seeing the photo and the patient's analyses. All this, continues Ruosi, "while remaining still and therefore having maximum lucidity which, combined with his own experience, allows him to guide the surgeon".
The Bari Congress brought together Italian professionals with German and Brazilian ones on the treatment of vertebral tumors: "A field in which we Italians are at the forefront but the comparison with other cultures is fundamental", underlines Ruosi, highlighting the role of prevention. "All the diagnostic techniques, which we use to try to discover the tumor in time, must necessarily be shared". Finally, "insights into the use of robotic surgery and artificial intelligence that now allows for truly impressive precision in the intervention".
