Nursing up, with a Health contract carried out for health professions

Nursing up, with a Health contract carried out for health professions

"A turning point for the healthcare professions. The High Qualification Area is finally accessible even without a master's degree. A victory for those who have remained invisible until now, despite the enormous daily clinical responsibility. There is also a strong push for mobility, with companies that need staff who will have to issue calls for tenders at least once a year". This is what the nurses' union Nursing up said after the signing of the Healthcare contract today at Aran.

It was, Nursing up states in a note, "one of the most complex negotiations in recent years for the Health sector. But Aran has finally said yes to important requests from the union". Among these, "for the first time, access to the High Qualification Area will also be open to nurses and health professionals without a master's degree, but with 7 years of consolidated experience. A turning point that overcomes years of exclusions, opening up new career prospects for many operators".

The signature, says Antonio De Palma, president of Nursing Up, "is a choice of vision: not signing would have meant leaving thousands of professionals without prospects. With this agreement, growth will no longer be reserved only for a few master's graduates". Nursing Up does not ignore the "limits" of the contract: "Still insufficient resources, inadequate compensation, and partial answers on crucial issues such as prompt availability and demotion. But the direction is considered the right one".

Then there is a "strong push for mobility": "Companies that need staff will have to issue calls for tenders at least once a year between January and March: finally, entire families will be able to reunite". The available staff remain at a maximum of 7 per month. As for the Specificity Allowance, midwives "will finally recover the economic difference compared to nurses". "Today's signature is just the beginning - concludes De Palma -. We will continue to fight for a contract that is not just a technical document, but a real tool for recognition and growth for those who keep the National Health Service afloat".
