Highlighting beauty, recounting traditions, celebrating excellence. This is the spirit behind the 2025 edition of the Photography Competition dedicated to the Almond Blossom and the Feast of San Calogero , which concluded with the presentation of the special "TUA Award" and "Ambassadors in the World" awards, given to individuals who have distinguished themselves through their commitment, talent, and ability to represent Sicily both within and beyond its borders.
Special Jury Prize – Carmelo Petrone With his vast photographic archive, Carmelo Petrone has chronicled the history of Agrigento for decades, capturing its transformations and moments of celebration. His work, always open to innovation and characterized by an original perspective, represents a precious visual legacy for future generations.
TUA Award – Best Female Photo A dreamy gaze, captured during a break in the performance: the portrait of a dancer from the Kari Kari group from Easter Island stands out. An intense and carefully composed photo that captures the passion and journey of being part of our celebration.
Best Tourist Destination Photo – Floriana Bianca A symbolic and dynamic shot: the “bummulu” suspended in the air, at the center of the astonished gazes of those present, becomes an emblem of Sicily and its traditions.
Best Black and White Photo – Mandorlo in Fiore – Francesco De Simone An iconic and powerful portrait of a young dancer, enhanced by a skillful play of light and blur that expresses passion and memory.
Best Color Photo – Almond Blossom – Giuseppe Greco A spectacular image of the Kari Kari dancers in action in front of the Temple of Concord. Technique and sensitivity blend in a shot that conveys the feeling of celebration.
Best Black and White Photo – San Calogero – Linda Amella The Saint among the crowd, the bearers tired on the climb, the devotion on their faces: the photograph tells the soul of the celebration with narrative force and compositional balance.
Best Color Photo – San Calogero – Giuseppe Greco A touching and choral moment, with the Saint carried in arms in front of the Church of Our Lady of Sorrows, emerging as the central figure over a sea of faithful.
Elena Dibattista, a Management and Marketing graduate, competitive tennis player, and Miss Italia 2024 finalist, has elegantly and talentedly represented the youthful face of Sicily. With strong roots, she has successfully brought the beauty of our land to the world.
Daniele Magro, singer-songwriter and author for artists such as Marco Mengoni, Mina, Fiorella Mannoia, and other big names in Italian music. Awards and platinum records, but a strong connection to Agrigento, which continues to inspire his career.
Giovanni Greco – CVA Canicattì He built the CVA winery into a national and international leader, combining innovation and sustainability. His vision has brought the region to the world's wine glasses.
