Sainte-Marthe: the ophthalmology practice will open Thursday, August 28

The Coteaux et Landes de Gascogne ophthalmology practice, which is moving from Marmande, will welcome its first patients in Sainte-Marthe from August 28
It's now official since Thursday, July 31: the Coteaux et Landes de Gascogne ophthalmology practice will host its first consultations on Thursday, August 28.
"Less than a year after the first concrete block was laid on Friday, September 6, 2024, the practice is now complete and ready to accommodate the move from the Marmande site," said Dr. Emmanuel Taboureau at the end of Thursday, July 31. He was accompanied by Élodie Thoumazeau, the orthoptist who will practice privately on the site, for a tour of the premises. The address of the ophthalmology practice is now 1245 route de la Garenne in Sainte-Marthe, with an unchanged telephone number (05 53 64 31 67).
"We will be moving from a two-story townhouse located on Boulevard Ulysse-Casse in Marmande to a 300 m² single-story office that meets all energy standards and is accessible to people with reduced mobility," confirmed Emmanuel Taboureau. Customer parking includes around twenty spaces in a fenced and protected park. Signage will be installed along the D933 road.
A stable medical teamThe three ophthalmology specialists previously based in Marmande are joining Sainte-Marthe. Dr. Emmanuel Taboureau, who specializes in vision surgery, cataract treatment, eyelid surgery, laser surgery, and intravitreal injections, will maintain his operating schedule at hospitals in the region. He will operate on Monday afternoons and Thursdays at the Marmande hospital, on Tuesdays at the Villeneuve-sur-Lot health center, and on Wednesdays at the Thiers clinic in Bordeaux.
Specialists Bernadette Basselerie and Georges Miremont will provide consultations and laser treatment. The medical team of three ophthalmologists will be supplemented by two orthoptists, including Élodie Thoumazeau, for visual field assessments, vision checks, assessments, and rehabilitation. Dr. Emmanuel Taboureau hopes to see the medical team expanded by at least one more ophthalmologist and one more orthoptist in the near future.
