Neuilly-Crimolois: They will cover 550 km by bike for cancer research

Raising awareness of cancer research through a cycling crusade is the challenge four companions from Neuilly-Crimolois have set themselves for their fourth edition. They will travel to Avignon, to a center belonging to the same group as the CGFL.

Departing from the Georges-François-Leclerc (CGFL) center , the cancer treatment center in Dijon, there were four of them on Monday, May 12 at 8 a.m. Wearing the CGFL colors, they were preparing to reach Avignon, for a journey of 550 km. "We will ride in stages of 100 km per day. We plan to arrive on Saturday at the Avignon-Provence Cancer Institute, our destination. We are going on a bit of an adventure, looking for a campsite for the evening, or a hotel if the weather is really too bad. Our first stop is around Tournus. After Lyon, we will take the ViaRhôna ," explains David Descombard, president of the Dépendance 21 Loisirs association, which is launching its fourth Lionel-Tissot Cycling Challenge.

It was in the presence of the parents of Lionel Tissot , a resident of Neuilly-Crimolois who died of cancer, and the mayor Didier Relot, that Mickaël, Didier, Jean and David left for the good cause. "Our challenge is annual. We have joined Nancy, Clermont-Ferrand and Lyon. We choose our destinations from among the 18 sister centers of the CGFL, within the Unicancer group. Our target this year is Avignon," specified the president during this departure which took place in the rain.
