La Teste-de-Buch: alcohol prevention measures in two nightclubs

By sudouest.fr
The Association for Information and Prevention of Party Drinking (Apipaf) will organize actions on Saturday, August 23 at La Dune and L'Hermitage.
The Association for Information and Prevention of Party Drinking (Apipaf) has existed since 2018. It develops prevention and information initiatives in party venues to curb road deaths. Nearly 30% of fatal road accidents are linked to excessive alcohol consumption. Both the perpetrators and the victims are often young people.
Apipaf will mobilize eight volunteers in two shifts, Saturday from 11:30 p.m. to 7 a.m., to work in the two nightclubs in La Teste-de-Buch, La Dune Club and L'Hermitage. The association will first offer customers the opportunity to become Sam for the evening, wearing a special wristband. In exchange, they won't have to pay for their soft drinks. It will then assess everyone's blood alcohol level free of charge upon leaving using electronic devices. This operation is being carried out in collaboration with the owners of both establishments.
