Chikungunya in Bergerac: new mosquito control operation planned for tonight

For approximately one hour, a specialized vehicle will spray insecticide on the streets of Jean-Macé, Beaumarchais, Émile-Counord, Jean-Charcot, des Camélias, and des Lilas. This will be supplemented, if necessary, by targeted interventions using portable devices in the outdoor spaces of private and public properties.
Unless postponed due to rain or wind, it will be carried out between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. and should last approximately one hour. It is recommended not to approach the crew, to bring in laundry, pets, or children's toys, and to close windows during and up to one hour after spraying, to wait three days before eating vegetables from the garden after washing them, and to clean garden furniture or any outdoor object that may have come into contact with the product.
If you experience any unusual symptoms during or after the spraying operation, contact your doctor or the Toxicovigilance Center (CAPTV) at 05 56 96 40 80. A similar operation was already carried out during the night of Monday, August 11 to Tuesday, August 12, following the discovery of two indigenous cases of the virus. This new operation is being carried out to reinforce the effect of the previous one but is not believed to be linked to a new case.
