“Around my forties, I started to lose my sight. I was an industrial designer. At my drawing board, I first tried to compensate, but the illness took over,” recalls Gilbert Methia. “I had a hard time getting used to it. I was a member of the Dampfpfiflà, a musician and dancer. I cut my wood in the forest… I had to stop all that, I was going around in circles, I was becoming aggressive.”
As a solution, he is offered a white cane. "It works to detect obstacles on the ground. But not at heights...."
