Biarritz: more than 1,000 runners for the tenth anniversary of the Biarrose

To mark the occasion, the traditional pink bib was replaced with black. This didn't stop some from opting for accessories: from flower leis to sunglasses to sequins. "Less flashy, but classier," says Véronique, wearing the bib and a regular at the race. This was the fourth time this year from Biarritz: "The first few editions, there were barely a few hundred of us," she recalls.

On the flagstones of the Grande Plage, all age groups are gathered: teenagers, mothers, girlfriends, grandmothers have laced up their sneakers. "It's our first race together. Without a stopwatch, it's perfect for running as a couple," smile a mother and daughter. Unusually, in this type of event, no times are recorded. "The participants enjoy the atmosphere and are more focused on the values ​​of the event," explains the organizers.

Commitment remains "the heart of Biarrose." The Label Rose association provides financial support to other organizations that help women with breast cancer. This year, Keep A Breast and Maison Goka Leku are the beneficiaries. "I ran for my friend Axelle," Anna breathes, moved. "I think we all know someone here who suffers from breast cancer. It's a meaningful cause," adds Albane, who stands beside her.
