Judeline, the hyperpop star who is making Spain shine

She was the only Spanish woman to perform on the prestigious Coachella stage this year. At just 22 years old, Judeline has become the new superstar of Spanish pop.
“A great achievement for a twenty-something who, despite taking off in Spain, still has only one album to her name, Bodhiria, out in October 2024,” applauds El País . The Spanish daily looks back on her appearance on April 12 at the Californian music festival, the largest in the world.
“I felt that there were a lot of people discovering me. For me, it was almost more important that there were spectators who knew nothing about me than to be in front of people who already knew me. That’s the effect of festivalshigh-profile events like Coachella.”

In her home country, the singer with long jet-black hair and a polished look reminiscent of British superstar Charli XCX has already made a name for herself.
The Iberian press even compares her to Rosalía.

Hailing from the port city of Cadiz and proud of her Andalusian roots, Judeline blends the tradition of castanets with avant-garde production that plays with reverb, distortion and autotune.
Characteristics of hyperpop, a subgenre that has been in vogue in recent years.
Lara Blanco, her real name, has experienced a meteoric rise since the release of her first album, which was acclaimed by critics.
“Mystery and ambiguity surround the twelve tracks of Bodhiria , a fantastic first album marked by ultramodern pop that incorporates Andalusian airs into a dreamlike and vaporous electronica,” praises the daily El Mundo , which ranked it among the best albums of 2024 in Spain.
A sign of her ease in playing with codes, genres and languages, her latest single “Tú et moi”, released on April 17, mixes French and Spanish with the Portuguese of the Brazilian Mc Morena.

Judeline said she hoped her project could “inspire future generations” in an interview with Rolling Stone Spain in August 2024.
The review already presented her as “one of the most interesting Spanish artists of the moment”, she who “operates a fusion between past, present and future” .
The Andalusian is thus part of a generation of singers who innovate based on their regional traditions.
“ Today there are so many new things being done, so many experiments, so many people trying to stand out, that I have the feeling that the most original thing is to go back to the origins, to the roots of everything, to mix them with what is currently being done,” she confided . “It’s a way to really tell who you are: you’re not inventing anything, you’re showing who you are, and where you come from.”
Judeline will be performing at the We Love Green festival in Paris on June 6.
