Haute-Loire. Michel Lacroix, the Altiligérien who challenges the Ardéchois for the summit of Mézenc

At the end of June, the Drôme-Ardèche Chamber of Expert Surveyors organized a day on the slopes of Mont Mézenc. On this occasion, a company proposed testing the use of drones to reanalyze the topography of this mountain straddling Haute-Loire and Ardèche. Along the way, participants took the opportunity to verify the exact boundary between the two departments. The subject has fueled conversations for several generations, and according to our colleagues at France 3 Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the results obtained this time have made it possible to definitively settle the debate... Confirmed at 1,744 meters above sea level, the northern summit, the one topped by a cross, would thus be in Haute-Loire. To the south, the highest point of the massif (1,753 meters), where the orientation table stands, would be located in Ardèche.
