Cyril Hanouna on W9, Léa Salamé on France 2's 8pm news... what's new this fall on TV?

After several months of a television diet, the presenter promises something "heavy" starting Monday on W9 at 6:45 p.m. in "Tout beau tout 9." The M6 group, to which the channel belongs, is offering him another show, "Tout beau tout fun," on Fun Radio starting Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. This makes a total of more than six hours daily, in neighboring studios.
On Monday there will be "darka (laughter, in Arabic, editor's note), happenings, debate, celebrities and we will also cover current events," emphasizes the former star of the Bolloré galaxy, dressed as Rambo to promote his return.
His new employer has asked the king of clashes to avoid political and controversial topics, as his excesses cost his former channel C8 a total of €7.6 million in fines, which were shut down at the end of February. No political guests are planned. As a precaution, there is talk of broadcasting "TBT9" with a slight delay.
Cyril Hanouna has renewed half of his team, bringing back former C8 commentators (Valérie Benaïm, Raymond Aabou, Géraldine Maillet, etc.) and recruiting new faces, whose names remain a mystery. Former minister Marlène Schiappa and sports journalist Nelson Monfort, however, appeared in a video of the rehearsals broadcast by W9 on social media.
A "ChatGPT columnist" is also announced on the set, for a "3.0 show".
"Ladies and gentlemen, good evening" : the journalist trained during the summer, shows a promotional clip from France 2's 8 p.m. news as a wink. Former co-host of France Inter's morning show, Léa Salamé succeeds Anne-Sophie Lapix, who was ousted, in this highly exposed position.
"Your life, your newspaper, with you," promises the woman who wants to "perhaps tell the news differently." The news has been nearly an hour long for a year and remains in its extended version.
Partner of one of the leaders of the left, Raphaël Glucksmann, Léa Salamé has promised to withdraw from the airwaves if he enters the race for the Elysée.
NOVO19 channel in orbitLaunched by the Ouest-France group, a newcomer will be taking its first steps among the big players on digital terrestrial television (DTT): NOVO19, on channel 19 at 6 p.m. on Monday.
Generalist, NOVO19 aims to be "rooted in the regions", with a newscast at 6:10 p.m. filmed in Rennes and a daily talk show hosted by Claire Arnoux and a group of columnists, including Claude Askolovitch.
"83% of French people don't necessarily feel represented in the media today. We want to change this impression," claims the channel's director, Guénaëlle Troly.
The birth of NOVO19, like that of the T18 channel in June, stems from the shutdown in early 2025 of C8 and NRJ 12, not renewed by Arcom, the audiovisual regulator.
Elsewhere in the PAFAnne-Sophie Lapix has been on RTL since August 25th, on the 18/20 news channel. She will also be hosting Sunday news interviews on M6, starting September 7th, at 8:20 p.m.
The news channels, which changed their numbers on their remote controls at the beginning of June, are not being left behind in this giant transfer window. After many departures, BFMTV has picked up Julien Arnaud (from France 2), Marc Fauvelle (from France Inter), and Dominique Tenza (ex-M6). LCI welcomes Yves Calvi, who arrived from RTL, who takes over the 18/20 news on Fridays and Saturdays.
On the public service side, there are new faces for Télématin on France 2: Maya Lauqué and Damien Thévenot during the week, Mélanie Taravant and Samuel Ollivier at the weekend.
Olivier Minne's successor at "Fort Boyard" is still unknown. After 22 years at the helm, the latter has joined M6, notably for a new weekly version of "Le Maillon faible".
