An evening to have your head in the stars
The Micro-Folie du Périgord noir is organizing an evening, the sky differently, to observe the stars, this Saturday, August 16, in Saint-Cyprien, in partnership with the astronomy club Les Pléiades de Prigonrieux.
It 's well known that August is the perfect month to admire the sky and hope to spot a shooting star. The Micro-Folie du Périgord Noir has decided to offer activities to see the sky differently. For this, they are accompanied by the astronomy club, Les Pléiades de Prigonrieux. This Saturday, August 16, in Saint - Cyprien, the curious have a meeting at the Petit Foyer, at 40 rue du Priolat.
From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., an exhibition is being held in this room to discover the sky through the lens of Nicolas Escurat. The author will be present to present his photographs of leprechauns and elves. Then, the bravest will try to slip into the shoes of an astronaut thanks to a virtual reality experience. They will also be able to discover Nicolas Escurat's 360° photos. All access is free.
Conferences and sky observationSeveral lectures will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. First, Julia Babylon will take her audience on a journey through the most beautiful nights in the history of art. A guaranteed immersion into the imagination of Van Gogh, Dali, and Vermeer. Then, Nicolas Escurat will speak to present the leprechauns, an incredible transient luminous phenomenon that appears above storms. These two lectures are available by reservation.
The evening will continue at the Saint-Cyprien rugby stadium, starting at 9 p.m., for a discovery of the solar system and the stars, all accompanied by a deep sky projection. A visual immersion for young and old. And finally, spectators can hope to glimpse Saturn or Jupiter through the small end of a telescope. They will also discover other planets, constellations, and galaxies. A lovely program to spend the evening with your head in the stars.
