Replacing fireworks with drones? This is the proposal in CDMX

Elvia Estrada , a local deputy for the PVEM, shared this Tuesday, February 25, the proposal to replace fireworks at parties or festivities in Mexico City (CDMX) with light shows with drones.
His initiative proposes adding various provisions to the City's Environmental Law so that the Government Headquarters provides, in a coordinated manner with the mayors, light shows with drones during festivities, after prior agreement with the population so that in exchange fireworks are not used .
Likewise, It is proposed that all capital authorities promote and use light shows with drones as an alternative to the use of fireworks. , as well as the productive sector, chambers of industry, commerce and other activities and services, producer organizations, and representative organizations of an area or region.

From the podium, Elvia Estrada commented that fireworks have been an important part of the celebrations in the City; however, she said, despite their cultural value, Its use has negative effects on health, the environment and affects pets.
"What I am proposing is a profound but necessary change. We want to replace fireworks with more modern, clean and responsible options . Light and drone shows are a spectacular option that not only maintains the excitement of the celebrations, but also eliminates noise and pollution. "These shows, in addition to being less harmful to our health, are also much more respectful of the environment. Light and drone shows use advanced technology that allows us to create visual experiences without releasing toxic substances into the air ," he said.
He commented that this transition is not only a question of health and well-being, but that we are also facing an opportunity to make Mexico City a model of sustainability.
"Mexico City is a place full of energy, creativity and community spirit, and it is time for it to also become a global benchmark for environmental responsibility ."
