Zonda wind, rain, and rising temperatures alert in Mendoza: which areas will be affected?

The Climate Contingency Directorate's forecast indicates a low of 4°C for tomorrow in Mendoza.

After a pleasant day that improved after Sunday's unexpected rains, the Zonda Wind returns to Mendoza this Tuesday, putting an end to the "good weather." The entire province will be under a yellow alert for strong winds during the day, with scattered showers expected towards the evening. In the Andes, the weather will worsen, and snow is expected in the high mountains.

The Directorate of Agriculture and Climate Contingencies forecasts Tuesday, July 15, to be "partly cloudy" with scattered showers in the evening. However, a rise in temperature is forecast.

"A high of 19°C and a low of 4°C, with somewhat strong winds from the south at the end of the day," the forecast states. Zonda winds are also expected in the foothills and Malargüe, while a yellow wind alert is in effect for much of the province. In the Andes, the weather will gradually deteriorate.

On Wednesday, July 16, the weather will remain similar, but temperatures will drop sharply. It will also be partly cloudy and cold, with temperatures dropping. However, a high of 14°C and a low of 5°C are expected, with moderate northeasterly winds. Snow is forecast in the Cordillera , with weather conditions improving in the afternoon.
