Video captures brutal attack on Colombian worker in the United States while she was being detained: 'I have papers'

A video on social media showed the exact moment a Colombian woman was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Chicago.

The woman was a daycare worker in Illinois. She was arrested on November 5th of this year while students at the Rayito de Sol Spanish Immersion Learning Center witnessed the scene.

Until a few months ago, arrests were prohibited in daycare centers because they were considered 'sensitive locations'. However, President Donald Trump eliminated this regulation at the start of his second term.

Videos recorded by bystanders show the exact moment the woman was violently removed from the kindergarten. Parents demanded her immediate release and described the operation as traumatic for the children.

For its part, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security published its version of events on social media. According to them, the Colombian woman lied about her real identity.

According to authorities, ICE agents attempted to stop a vehicle with license plates registered to an undocumented resident. When cornered, the driver sped off and tried to hide in a shopping mall.

“The officers tried to stop this vehicle, registered to an illegal immigrant, with the sirens and emergency lights on, but the driver refused to stop the vehicle,” he explained.

The woman allegedly entered the childcare center to hide from the authorities. For this reason, they reportedly entered the lobby to try to remove her.

“Further details, including criminal records and information about the male assailant, will be released soon, and we will update the public with more information as soon as it becomes available,” U.S. authorities concluded.

In viral videos on social media, the woman can be heard claiming that her residency documents were in order. Following the incident, the school closed, and the community was deeply affected by what happened.
