RCR Architects; Ibon Errazkin; Muñoz Molina...

ABC Cultural visits the RCR Arquitectes studio in Olot (Girona). We chat with this successful trio of architects, Carme Pigem, Rafael Aranda, and Ramón Vilalta, winners of the 2017 Pritzker Prize. Today, from their refuge, they project ideas to the most remote places on the planet and note, among other revealing confessions about their way of working: "The starting point must be the concept. It's a big mistake to be loose-lipped."
On the other hand, the supplement's critics examine some of the most relevant recently published titles. Among them, in Fiction, "On All Fours" (Random House). The title by French writer Miranda July alludes to sexual practice, but her novel also asks: why do we do what we do?; "Prohibido morir aquí" (Libros del Asteroide) by Elizabeth Taylor. The British writer of the same name as the famous actress immerses us in a twilight gerontological work where the eclipse of a few lives barely conceals veritable black holes; "Lo que falta" (Periférica). Stories by Munir Hachemi that intertwines the real, the metaphysical, and the phantasmagorical.
In Essay, 'The Summer of Cervantes' (Seix Barral). Antonio Muñoz Molina offers us a suggestive personal and literary reading of 'Don Quixote' and its author, in which the almost seventy-year-old Muñoz Molina recovers the world he experienced as a child; 'You Shall Not Speak' (Alianza). Welsh writer and journalist James Griffiths studies the current state of the seven thousand living languages that exist today.
Also, "Five American Chronicles" (Ladera Norte). Manuel Burón takes us on a historical journey through the lives of those who once crossed the Atlantic, including Christopher Columbus, and debunks stereotypes; "The Beat Generation in India" (Fórcola). Garrocho advocates moderation in these turbulent times.

He reviews his career and his book "Here" (Salamandra), one of the most innovative graphic novels in the genre, which was adapted into a film in 2024 by Robert Zemeckis.
In Music, we chat with Ibon Errazkin . The San Sebastian-born composer is screening Antonio Morales' interesting and unusual film "Nubes y Claros" in Madrid. The film, which accompanies his music and vice versa, was shot entirely in Tangier and inspired by the "walker" series by Chinese-Malaysian director Tsai Ming-liang.
The Art section opens its pages with a focus on the Pontevedra Art Biennial . Thus, after a hiatus, one of the most sought-after and long-standing biennials returns. Renewed impetus for an event, running until September 30, which invites us from the very title to "Become Human Again. In the Face of the Pain of Others." We also speak with Roberto González Fernández, the father of LGBTQ art. After decades of work, his dedication is beginning to be recognized.
And, among other exhibitions, we explore the group exhibitions "After All. Photography in the Helga de Alvear Collection" and "Parsifal."
