Darth Vader's lightsaber will be auctioned for a fortune: Star Wars fans willing to pay millions to own it

Darth Vader's lightsaber will be auctioned for a fortune: Star Wars fans willing to pay millions to own it
Items used in films, depending on their success and recognition in popular culture, become coveted pieces for fans of memorabilia and art. Feature films like Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and Harry Potter all feature items or props that go down in history.
These items are sought after by collectors who would pay millions just to have them in their homes. Those that were used for the first time or in the original versions of the first parts of the films are often the hardest to find and the most valuable. This time, Darth Vader's lightsaber and Indiana Jones's whip, among other iconic items, will be available for purchase.
Saber auction will start at between $1 and $3 million
Star Wars lightsabers are an essential part of the iconic science fiction film saga's story. Inspired by these fictional fighting instruments, millions of toys have been sold since the release of the first film in 1977.

Among the most sought-after items was that of the films' main villain: Darth Vader. The antagonist's weapon will be auctioned, and fans are expected to bid millions to win this collectible piece, of which there is only one in the world.
The lightsaber used by Vader in the final two films of the original Star Wars trilogy, "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi," will be auctioned in September at the Los Angeles Propstore and is valued at between $1 million and $3 million.

This year, the release of "The Empire Strikes Back" marks its 45th anniversary and will coincide with the auction, which will also tour London, New York, and finally Beverly Hills in August before its final sale to one lucky fan.
Chief operating officer Brandon Alinger, in statements reported by The Hollywood Reporter , said that "genuine lightsaber props from the original trilogy are exceedingly rare" , and also called it a "grail-level item, worthy of the finest collections in the world."
The most recent Star Wars item sold at auction by the same store was an X-wing, a 55-centimeter-long interstellar fighter designed by George Lucas for the original film. On that occasion, in 2022, the item sold for more than $2.3 million.

Along with this saber, the whip used by Harrisson Ford in "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade," another successful installment of the adventure film saga adapted in thousands of films and series throughout history, will also be auctioned.
Along with these two items, a neuralyzer used to erase memories by the Men in Black and the original hat worn by Sauron in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring are also expected to be sold at the auction, which begins with an entry fee of millions of dollars.
