BTS's comeback is getting closer: This is the only member who has yet to be discharged from military service.

BTS's long-awaited comeback is getting closer. With six of its seven members already released from mandatory military service in South Korea, the world's most influential K-pop band is preparing to reunite with its fans after more than two years of hiatus. Only one member remains to complete the septet: Suga, who will be released from military service on June 21.
Since 2022, the group's members have begun fulfilling the legal requirement that all South Korean men must complete military service before the age of 30. The news caused a mixture of sadness and excitement among ARMY—as their fans are known—: the seven would be stepping back from the stage for a while, but at the same time, they were beginning a new phase in their lives. In fact, some of them even released solo songs before enlisting.

On June 10, RM and V concluded their 18-month service, followed a day later by Jimin and Jungkook. With these discharges, six members have now completed their military service. Jin, the oldest of the group, was the first to enlist in December 2022, followed by J-Hope in April 2023, and Suga in September of the same year. Finally, in December 2023, Jungkook, V, Jimin, and RM departed together for their respective military units.
Nearly three years after their absences began, BTS experienced their first in-person reunion during a special concert marking the closing of J-Hope's Hope on the Street tour. The event took place on June 13 at the Goyang Sports Complex, a date steeped in symbolism for the group, as it coincided with the 12th anniversary of their official debut.
“This is the last show. I still can't believe it. We started in Seoul at the end of February, the tour has been going on for three months, and it's finally coming to an end. I'm honored that the closing show is happening on such a significant day (June 13) ,” J-Hope expressed, according to The Korea Herald.

The concert was full of unexpected moments. Jungkook, the group's "golden maknae," surprised the audience by appearing on stage just two days after completing his military service . He performed his solo hit "Seven," sending the audience into raptures. Shortly after, Jin joined him, starring alongside J-Hope in a heartfelt performance of "Spring Day," one of the group's most beloved songs.
“Today is June 13th, our debut anniversary. I felt like I had to perform. So I just asked Hobi directly if I could do a performance with him. And here I am,” Jin said, addressing the audience.
Although only Jin and Jungkook performed on stage, the rest of the members—RM, V, Jimin, and Suga—were also present at the concert. They were seen in the VIP area, greeting fans, laughing, and enjoying the show together. In particular, Suga, who has yet to be officially released, was spotted dancing enthusiastically and singing along to his bandmates' songs.
