Rebecca Mir: Model stands up to data thieves with nude photo

Rebecca Mir publishes a nude photo herself after it fell into the wrong hands. The model wants to get ahead of data thieves.
An artistic nude photo that Rebecca Mir (33) had previously not wanted to publish can now be seen on social media. Not because the 33-year-old has changed her mind, but because she had to get ahead of data thieves. The former "Germany's next Topmodel" candidate posted the intimate photo on Instagram in order to maintain control over her own image.
"Sometimes photos just stay in the archive - I took this picture back then and liked it, but somehow never posted it," Mir explains in her Instagram post. The nude photo got to a stranger "in an unpleasant way" because "someone got access to it." The black and white photo shows the presenter lying naked on her back. She has her arms crossed over her chest.
Emotional appeal to her followers"It makes me sad that something like this can happen and that you can't always protect yourself sufficiently," writes the wife of "Let's Dance" professional dancer Massimo Sinató (44). At the same time, she makes a clear appeal to her followers: "Take good care of your data!"
The reactions of her fans are mostly positive. Many praise the picture, but regret the circumstances. One follower commented that the way the photo was published left a "bad aftertaste".

In an Instagram story, Rebecca Mir also warns against data misuse and alerts her followers to fraudulent emails that are supposed to be from her. She publishes a screenshot of a fake email in which she asks in incorrect German to send more nude and partially nude photos. "FAKE!!!" the presenter writes in large letters above the message.
Rebecca Mir is not alone in this type of data misuse. Celebrities are often victims of identity theft on social media or through fake emails. Hollywood star Sandra Bullock (60) recently addressed the public via People magazine to warn about fake accounts that had been created under her name "for financial gain or exploitation." A woman who had been taken in by a fake Brad Pitt (61) and believed she was in a long-distance relationship with the Hollywood star also made headlines.
