This is how glamorous Jannik Sinner is spending his doping ban: In Milan, he was spotted at the Gucci show next to Anna Wintour.
World number one tennis player Jannik Sinner (23) is currently banned for three months due to a doping offense. For the time being, he will not be seen on the tennis court. The surprise was all the greater when he appeared in public in Milan on Tuesday evening. There, he attracted everyone's attention at the Gucci fashion show in the front row - not least because he sat in the front row right next to "Vogue" editor-in-chief Anna Wintour (75). The South Tyrolean tennis star appeared next to the fashion icon dressed in red in a dark look by Gucci, combined with white sneakers by Nike.
Jannik Sinner is brand ambassador for GucciSinner has been a global ambassador for the Italian luxury fashion brand since 2022 and has already appeared in a campaign for the label. The appearance at Milan Fashion Week is his first public appearance since he was banned from sports for three months by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
In March last year, he failed two doping tests. At first, he was not banned because he was able to prove that the contamination with clostebol was not intentional. WADA objected to this. In mid-February 2025, Sinner finally agreed to a settlement and accepted the temporary suspension.
The conditions of the ban prohibit him from training with registered players or entering venues where tennis tournaments are held or which belong to the Italian Tennis Federation. He is not allowed to compete again until May 4th and will not be able to officially start training again until April 13th at the earliest. Until then, according to Italian media reports, the Monte Carlo Country Club in the French municipality of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin will be his headquarters, where he can continue to concentrate on playing tennis despite the strict rules.
