Haderlump opens store in Kreuzberg: Now the young wild ones are attacking

The Berlin fashion label Haderlump is one of our city's hippest newcomers. With their first store, the label proves that half measures aren't their thing.
Haderlump, one of Berlin's most important new-age fashion labels, is opening its first store in Berlin. This is a good sign, because it means, on the one hand, that founders Johann Ehrhardt and Julius Weissenborn are truly serious about their business. And, on the other, it demonstrates courage, because in such shaky times as ours, a store is a true experiment. That requires a flexible mindset.
That's why the Haderlump makers call their store a "space beyond fashion"; a pure retail store would simply no longer have suited the times. In addition to selling the ready-to-wear collections, the front area of the 200-square-meter space will also house workshops and events, while the studio will be located at the back. "For us, this space isn't just about presenting our designs," explains Creative Director Johann Ehrhardt about the concept. "It's about contributing to Berlin's cultural landscape – creating a space where people can meet, exchange ideas, and be inspired. It's our way of giving something back to the city that has shaped us."
Haderlump has only been around for about four years. With designs dedicated to a rather dark, avant-garde aesthetic, the brand belongs to our city's young, "wild" fashion generation. The extremely elaborate shows at Berlin Fashion Week also make a huge contribution to elevating the local fashion week and making it internationally interesting.
For now, Ehrhardt is happy that his customers no longer have to travel to distant Neukölln, where the studio and showroom were previously located. He says of the new Haderlump location in Kreuzberg: "When we first entered the space, it immediately felt like home. As Haderlump continues to grow, it was only natural to take this step to a more central part of the city and finally open our doors to everyone."

Julius Weissenborn, Brand Manager and second Haderlump founder, explains the move of production to Kreuzberg: "Transparency has always been central to our philosophy. The new space allows visitors to literally see how each piece is created—our team designs, cuts, and sews directly behind glass walls. It's a statement about honesty in fashion and about reconnecting people with the processes behind what they wear." It's somewhat reminiscent of the open kitchen in a fine restaurant—and is sure to appeal to Haderlump fans.
The Haderlump flagship store opens on November 29th at Besselstraße 14, in 10969 Berlin (near Checkpoint Charlie).
