Musician Rainald Grebe lives part-time in the Uckermark region. He knows why people here dislike the Green Party: They are considered enemies of rural life.
Rainald Grebe: “What the Greens understand as nature is considered urban nature here in the countryside.” Sabine Gudath
Musician and comedian Rainald Grebe lives in Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg district and, for many years, in a village in the Uckermark region . In Prenzlauer Berg, the Alliance 90/The Greens party received over 40 percent of the vote in some parts of the last federal election; in the Uckermark region, the AfD received over 40 percent. The Greens are virtually nonexistent there. We caught up with Rainald Grebe in the Uckermark region and asked him for an explanation for the hostility the party faces there.
